It penetrates any material like an auger, allowing you to simply grasp the free-spinning handles and crank clockwise into your pile. Lift without turning, and the corkscrew will pull compost up from the bottom to thoroughly mix and aerate.

Depending on the heaviness of your compost, you may need to repeat this step layer by layer, as it could be too heavy to lift all at once. Once you've loosened the material, you can go deeper. The tool is long enough to reach every corner of the bin and light, so you are lifting the compost and not the tool.

The Compost Crank is EASY, FAST, AND FUN TO USE. Simply crank clockwise into your compost, then lift without turning. The corkscrew reliably aerates any compost bin, even into the corners, and easily works through vines and other troublesome ingredients.

The Compost Crank is HIGHLY DURABLE, made of solid, thick 3/8 inch stainless steel, with comfortable, free-spinning, glass-filled nylon handles, and stainless steel washers. It's ready to use, with no assembly required.

The tool is 46" tall overall, with a spiral section that is 3-3/4 inch wide and 6 inches tall. The effective depth is 30", from the tip of the spiral up to the first bend. Measurements may vary slightly as each one is handmade.
