Compact 5-Band usdx Multimode QRP Transceiver Assembled by PE1NNZ and DL2MAN

The (tr)uSDX is a 5-Band / Multimode QRP Transceiver in Pocket Format (90x60x30mm – 140g), which is the successor of the uSDX Project, resulting from the collaboration between PE1NNZ and DL2MAN. The design was intended as an easy-to-build (pre-assembled) kit.

This version of the (tr)uSDX features a highly efficient Class E PA and supports CW/LSB/USB and AM/FM, covering the 80/60/40/30/20m bands, with plans for future support of 17/15/12/10m as well. It is equipped with an OLED display, an onboard mic, a (tiny) onboard speaker, and an onboard PTT key that can be used as an emergency CW key.

The (tr)uSDX also has a (Micro)USB CAT and Programming Interface, and while it typically produces 5W @ 13.8V, it can also output 0.5W from a 5V USB supply. It is further equipped with an onboard SWR bridge and voltage/current measurement hardware to assist in tuning and operation.

In this version change, only the mainboard has been updated to version 1.2, while the RF board remains at version 1.0. The mainboard has been pre-programmed with a bootloader, and users can program their callsign by following the instructions provided.

To program the callsign or update the firmware, users will need the following: 1. The (tr)uSDX unit (with the serial number provided in the package) 2. A computer 3. The AVR-Dudess software 4. A USB cable

The steps to program the callsign or update the firmware are as follows: 1. Download the firmware from DL2MAN's page 2. Enter the serial number and download the firmware 3. Install the USB driver for the CH340 and the AVR-Dudess software 4. Connect the mainboard to the computer using the USB cable 5. Open the AVR-Dudess software and program the firmware

Additionally, the (tr)uSDX comes pre-assembled with a 3D-printed orange case, featuring raised lettering. It also has a power jack with a 3.5mm x 1.35mm size.
